Gaithersburg, MD – April McClain Delaney, Democratic candidate for Maryland’s 6th Congressional District, has received key endorsements from top Montgomery County law enforcement officials, highlighting her strong commitment to public safety, and building safer communities in the 6th District.

Montgomery County Sheriff Maxwell Uy and State’s Attorney John McCarthy have both voiced strong support for McClain Delaney, praising her proven dedication to protecting families and supporting law enforcement.

“As a 30 year plus law enforcement professional, I support candidates that will address the underlying root causes of crime,” said Sheriff Maxwell Uy, Montgomery County. “April’s strong advocacy for ensuring there are safeguards with media and technology for our children, along with her support for increased funding to address mental health issues in our communities is why I am proud to endorse April McClain Delaney for Congress.”

“As the State’s Attorney for Montgomery County, I’ve seen firsthand the challenges our communities face, and I know it takes someone with real understanding and heart to make a difference. April McClain Delaney is that person,” said John McCarthy, Montgomery County State’s Attorney. “She doesn’t just talk about public safety – she’s deeply committed to protecting our families and standing up for law enforcement. Her work with Common Sense Media to keep our kids safe online shows her dedication to the well-being of the next generation. April knows that to build safer communities, we have to address issues like mental health and addiction at their core. I’m proud to endorse her because I trust her to fight for what truly matters.”

These endorsements underscore April McClain Delaney’s unwavering commitment to public safety and her strong support for law enforcement. In Congress, she will build on her extensive experience at the Department of Commerce, where she played a pivotal role in advancing the FirstNet Responder Network and led efforts to modernize the Next Generation 911 – ensuring that our first responders have the tools they need to keep our communities safe.

In stark contrast, her opponent Neil Parrott has consistently voted against measures to support law enforcement and first responders – co-sponsoring legislation to freeze pension benefits for public employees, voting to deny retirement benefits to law enforcement officers, and opposing enhanced workers’ compensation for correctional officers and firefighters injured in the line of duty. His record shows a pattern of voting against the very individuals who put their lives on the line to keep our communities safe.

“My top priority is ensuring the safety and security of our communities. Public safety isn’t just about law enforcement – it’s about addressing the root causes of crime, supporting mental health, and ensuring our first responders have the resources they need to protect us,” said April McClain Delaney. “I am deeply committed to working with law enforcement, community leaders, and families to build a safer 6th District. In Congress, I will fight to ensure our law enforcement professionals are supported, our children are protected, and our communities are safe.”
