Gaithersburg, MD – April McClain Delaney, Democratic candidate for Maryland’s 6th Congressional District, has earned the endorsement of AFSCME, one of the largest and most influential labor unions representing thousands of dedicated public service workers across the state.
“I am deeply honored to have the endorsement of AFSCME and the thousands of dedicated public service workers they represent,” said April McClain Delaney. “I will always stand with organized labor, fight for the rights of working families, and partner with AFSCME to build an economy that lifts up every community.”
AFSCME’s endorsement adds to a growing list of labor organizations backing McClain Delaney, including the AFL-CIO, Teamsters, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Maryland State Educators Association, and more, cementing her position as the pro-worker candidate in the race for Maryland’s 6th Congressional District.
“Our union is excited to endorse April McClain Delaney because we are confident that she is a candidate who will stand up against our opposition and their dangerous Project 2025 agenda that includes dismantling public sector unions,” said Patrick Moran, President of AFSCME Maryland Council 3. “We believe April will fight for the best interests of working families in the 6th District and across Maryland, defend our freedom to organize and join together in strong unions, and invest in strong public services and union jobs for our communities.”
