Gaithersburg, MD – April McClain Delaney, candidate for Congress in Maryland’s 6th District, today condemned opponent Neil Parrott’s troubling record on combating antisemitism, criticizing Parrott’s disturbing votes in the Maryland State Legislature, which have undermined efforts to combat rising hate in our communities.
“Neil Parrott’s refusal to join the overwhelming majority of lawmakers in supporting legislation that prohibits the display of swastikas and other hate symbols is both disturbing and dangerous,” said April McClain Delaney. “At a time when antisemitism is surging across the country, our leaders must demonstrate zero tolerance for hate in all forms, including antisemitic symbols and rhetoric.”
Responding to Neil Parrott’s record, DMFI PAC Chairman Mark Mellman said, “Neil Parrott was one of just four members of the Maryland House of Delegates who refused to outlaw antisemitic vandalism, but April McClain Delaney will be the kind of pro-Israel champion we need in Congress.”
“As a member of Congress, I will always stand up to antisemitism, and ensure that we stand with our Jewish communities at home and that we remain a strong ally to Israel abroad,” said April McClain Delaney. “The people of Maryland deserve a representative who will unwaveringly confront hate—not someone who repeatedly fails to take a stand.”
