Gaithersburg, MD – On the second anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), April McClain Delaney applauds the most consequential healthcare, infrastructure, climate, and economic bill in recent American history.
“Two years ago, the Biden-Harris Administration passed the Inflation Reduction Act – a transformative piece of legislation that is improving lives and communities here in Maryland and across the country,” said April McClain Delaney. “The IRA is driving down healthcare costs, investing in Maryland’s infrastructure and broadband, and creating stable, good-paying jobs.”
Yesterday, at Prince George’s Community College, April McClain Delaney joined Maryland Democrats, President Biden, and Vice President Harris to celebrate the IRA’s historic impact on lowering prescription drug prices, saving American taxpayers billions while ensuring critical access to life-saving medications for seniors in Maryland.
April McClain Delaney remains steadfast in her commitment to protect the Inflation Reduction Act’s essential provisions. In a survey conducted by the Health Care for All Coalition, she pledged to defend the IRA’s health benefits in Congress. In contrast, her opponent in Maryland’s 6th Congressional District, Neil Parrott, has not made the same commitment and has faced mounting criticism for his past votes that disproportionately impacted lower-income seniors – many of whom rely on the health benefits provided by the Inflation Reduction Act.
“As we celebrate the achievements of the Inflation Reduction Act, we must not lose sight of what’s at stake,” said April McClain Delaney. “I am committed to fighting for policies that keep healthcare affordable, protect our environment, and create jobs that strengthen our economy. Marylanders deserve a representative who will fight for their interests every day.”
